April 11-13, 2008 - Registration Form AprilThis year there will be three retreats offered to sophomores for their weekend retreat option (see dates above). They run from 6:00 p.m. Friday night until approximately 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. Bus transportation for all participants is provided.
Reflections Retreat registration forms will be available online or outside the Youth Ministry office one month prior to each retreat (watch the weekly bulletin for details). The Reflection retreat fee is $135.00. Registrations for the retreat will be accepted from the first 80 participants for each retreat. When the retreat is full your name will be put on a waiting list, but you must choose another retreat date. You will only be notified by us if the retreat is full.
These retreats are led by adults, young adults, and peers. If you are interested in helping with a retreat, participation in the planning sessions which take place for the six weeks prior to the retreats is requested. High school teens interested in becoming part of the Team, must first attend a weekend retreat.
The Reflections retreat consists of both large and small group activities. There are approximately six talks related to the theme prepared by teens and on rare occasions adults. Each talk has a scriptural reference. The talks are mostly in the form of personal witness and storytelling. After the talks, small group discussions are facilitated by team members. These small groups remain the same throughout the retreat.
There are recreational and free time segments of the retreat also. Outside and inside recreational activities are offered. There is a gym and outside playing fields. The grounds have open and wooded spaces. There is a Sunday mass celebrated as a group and prayer opportunities throughout the weekend. Skits are prepared to reinforce the theme of the weekend. Bedtime is scheduled on Friday evening at midnight and on Saturday at 11:30 p.m.
Meals provided include a snack on Friday night, breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, lunch on Saturday and Sunday and dinner on Saturday.
