ST. RAPHAEL CHURCH This weekend we change the focus for our work here at St. Raphael. We end this year in which we’ve concentrated upon growing in faith, hope and love as disciples of Christ, and we introduce our theme for the coming year’s ministry: Live as a Disciple: Discover and Share God’s Gifts. Last year, as the Pastoral Council reflected upon our newly adopted Parish Vision and the supporting guiding principles, they determined that we, as a parish, would focus on one guiding principle each year for the next five years to help us live into our vision. This second year we are focusing on Committed Belonging and how to share our gifts as committed members of St. Raphael. As we move through this new year together, each of us will be encouraged to discern the gifts that God has given us at this particular time in our life to determine how we are being calling to use them responsibly to be effective disciples of Christ. As a parish we will try to find ways to help our parishioners to recognize their gifts, redirect their efforts and give them opportunities to use the gifts and talents with which they have been blessed. |
