Music Ministry News All in the music ministry are invited to sing at the mass celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Fr. Ted's Ordination, to be held on Sunday, My 25 at 2:00 PM.  The rehearsal for this liturgy will be on Tuesday, May 20 from 7:30 to 9:30 PM.  Please consider joining us for this special occasion. Attention cantors: the summer schedule and the new music menu were distributed last week.  Please look them over and contact the music ministry office if you have questions.  Our next cantor rehearsal will be on Tuesday, May 27 beginning at 8:00 PM in the rehearsal room. Our "Worship Wednesdays" continue from 7:00- 8:00 in the Chapel.  Many of the songs used at this event will be sung at the 12:15 mass.  We would like to thank all those who have helped to make this event successful thus far.  We anticipate continued success in the future. Contemporary Ensemble- Rehearsals on May 14 and 21; Masses (5:00 PM) on May 17, 24 Adult Choir- Rehearsals on May 15 and 22; Masses (10:45 AM) on May 18 and 25 Cantor Rehearsal: Tuesday, May 27, 8:00 PM Looking ahead, mark your calendars for the start up of rehearsals in the Fall.  The Adult and Contemporary Choirs will Wednesday and Thursday of September 10 and 11. Adult Choir
Absence Hotline 355-4545 ext 127

• Must possess a sense of pitch and love of singing (Note reading and music background are helpful but not necessary)
• Post-high school age through adult are welcome to join this ministry
• Repertoire: anthems and choral music traditional through modern
• Rehearsals: Thursday evenings 7:30-9:30 PM in the rehearsal room
• Ministers at 10:45 mass and more often during Advent/Christmas and Lent/Easter seasons
• Commitment Form

.Cantors

• Open to all who have received First Eucharist. possess a pleasant voice and sense of pitch, and are able to sing alone well.
• All youth cantors will minister with an adult cantor mentoring
• Proclaim the Word of God through hymns/songs
• Sunday
• Must posses a cassette player so you may rehearse at home
• Initial training: Audition and 3 training sessions
• Minister year round according to availability
• Funeral
• Minister on a rotating schedule during the day usually 36 hours notice. Contact is made through the Parish Liturgy/Music office
• Wedding
• Minister at weddings according to availability
• Must attend the Wedding Liturgy Planning Workshops 3 times a year to "audition" for the engaged couples.
• We will soon incorporate Psalmists into the liturgy

Children's Choirs

All Children Choir parents or guardians are required to volunteer 1-3 hours per year to help this ministry run smoothly.

• Joyful Noise
• Must possess a love of singing
• Children Kindergarten through 2 nd grade are invited to join
• Rehearsals: Wednesdays from 4:30 - 5:15 PM in the Rehearsal Room
• Ministers: as the schedule indicates
• Commitment Form
• Youth Choir
• Must posses a love of singing
• Children from 3 rd through 7 th grade are invited to join
• Must attend a yearly "voice check" or interview
• Rehearsals: Thursday afternoons 4:00-5:00 in the rehearsal room
• Ministers: as the schedule indicates - ending the season on Pentecost Sunday.

• Rehearsals: Wednesday Evening 7:00-8:00 pm in the rehearsal room
• Some adults assist by playing instruments
• Ministers: as the schedule indicates

Contemporary Ensemble

• Must posses a sense of pitch and love of music
• High school age through adult are welcome
• Repertoire: Contemporary and praise style music with all types of instruments
• Rehearsals: Wednesday evenings 8:00 - 9:30 in the rehearsal room
• Ministers: Twice a month September through Pentecost alternating at the 5:00
  (Several other liturgies are added during Advent/Christmas and Lent/Easter seasons)

. Handbell Choir - Tintinnabulum Ringers

• Must posses the ability to count, discern left from right, and a sense of rhythm
• These groups DO NOT SING
• Open to all adults and teens of the parish
• Rehearsals: Wednesday evenings 7:00-8:00 in the handbell room
• Rehearsal attendance is critical

• Ministers: on various Sundays during Lent, Easter Sunday, Pentecost Sunday, and during the Advent and Christmas Season.  Please stay tuned for the specific dates of Liturgies. 

. Instrumentalists

• Must posses a basic knowledge of their instrument, the ability to read music, and a dedication to practicing on their own
• Open to all parishioners Junior high through adult
• Ministers year round as your schedule permits and parish needs.

. Resurrection Choir

• Must possess a love of music and joy in ministering to those in need of comfort
• Open to all adults in the parish
• Rehearsals: 30 minutes before each funeral.
• A phone tree is established by the parish giving usually 36 hour notice.
• Ministers: Funerals year round, All Souls' Day and Triduum Morning Prayer
