Stephen Ministry - Care Givers
Stephen Ministry is based on the idea that all Christians are ministers. The responsibility for passing on God’s love is for all of us. God has given us all gifts
for ministry, and called us to put those gifts to use. Do you have gifts for caring, encouragement, and listening? How are you using your gifts right now? Are you looking for a new way to use them? If so, please prayerfully consider becoming a Stephen Minister. Stephen Ministers provide emotional and spiritual support and care to people who are going through a difficult time, such as divorce, grief, hospitalization, unemployment, terminal illness, relocation, chronic illness, or loneliness. Stephen Ministers are God's representatives who bring in their lives through you!
Every day you see people who are hurting; Stephen Ministry is a system through which members of St Raphael are trained and organized to help provide Christian care-giving to members of our parish and community. This will multiply the amount of caring ministry we can provide by giving us a whole team of skilled caregivers who are equipped to bring Christ’s healing love to people who are grieving, in crisis, or experiencing other stresses in their lives. Stephen Ministers bring distinctively Christian care to those in need. They use both words and deeds to express Christ's care for others--listening and comforting, calling on the training they have received and employing the tools of faith.
