When the time for Pentecost was fulfilled, they were all in one place together. And suddenly there came from the sky a noise like a strong driving wind, and it filled the entire house in which they were. Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which parted and came to rest on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues as the Spirit enabled them to proclaim.     Acts 2:1-6 

Confirmation at a Glance

Confirmation is typically celebrated in the high school years and when all requirements are met. The requirements through the Crossroads Youth Ministry program are as follows:

Upon entering the Crossroads program as a freshman, your candidate will become part of a Small Christian Community (SCC group). They will participate in this group for two years. Meetings will be held in the homes of our SCC facilitators from October through May. To get participation credit for a SCC group, the teen may miss up to six sessions per year. Make-up lessons for every session after the sixth absence will be required before credit will be given.

Teens who attend Catholic high schools will also participate in SCC groups. However, because they receive religious teachings in school, these groups focus on group service, community building and liturgy.

At various times during the year, large group faith formation events are held for freshman, sophomore and junior SCC groups. These events are usually held at church. If these sessions are missed, there will be a make-up given to be completed by the teen.

Attendance at one weekend Reflections retreat as a sophomore is required.

It is assumed that those seeking the Sacrament of Confirmation attend weekly Sunday masses.
